DJ, 74 Alleged Members Of A Notorious Nigerian Mafia Group Arrested In Italy
Italian police on Wednesday arrested 74 alleged members of a notorious Nigerian mafia group in the Turin and Ferrara areas of Italy.
The mafia group, called Arobaga Vikings or Norsemen Kclub International, which is notorious for dealing in prostitution and trafficking of hard drugs, is organised in many Italian cities in form of cells.
More than 200 policemen participated in the major operation against the Nigerian mafia leading to the arrest of that national leaders of the group.
Among those arrested includes 50-year-old Emmanuel Okenwa also known as ‘Boogye’, an AfroBeat DJ and the self-styled “King of Ferrara”. He was arrested by undercover officers in the city of Verona as he prepared to flee the country.
According to the police, 31 people were arrested in Ferrara, while 43 were nabbed in Turin, including several women who allegedly ran prostitution rackets.
A judge in Bologna, Gianluca Petragnani Gelosi, explained that the Vikings’ were planning to “violently annihilate” other Nigerian criminal gangs and take over their domains.
